• Fernando Ramirez, 29, was indicted on 37 counts of attempted murder and 37 counts of assault with a deadly weapon for deliberately steering his car onto a sidewalk outside the Vermont Hollywood nightclub on July 19, injuring at least 36 people.
• Police say the vehicle plowed through a crowd of revelers and street vendors before coming to rest on food carts, leaving several victims briefly trapped beneath the car and suffering injuries ranging from minor abrasions to serious fractures.
• After bystanders dragged Ramirez from the car and assaulted him, an unidentified man shot him in the lower back; Ramirez is being held without bail and is set to be arraigned Wednesday.
