Overview

• Deputies conducting a 10:15 a.m. welfare check on South Spring Street in Morehead found two people dead inside a home.
• Rowan County Coroner John P. Northcutt identified the victims as 37-year-old Kayla Blake and her 13-year-old daughter, Kennedi McWhorter.
• Kentucky State Police named 44-year-old Joshua W. Cottrell of Morehead as the suspect and located him at a hospital in McCracken County.
