Man Charged After Knife Incident at Montreal-Area Mosque Injures Three

The 24-year-old suspect, known to the community, remains in custody as police investigate the motive.

Younes Adib, 24, has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose following an altercation at a Châteauguay mosque.
The incident occurred on Friday afternoon, leaving three men in their 50s with minor injuries; one was hospitalized with hand wounds.
The altercation began when mosque staff noticed Adib's strange behavior and discovered he was carrying a knife.
The injured men, all volunteers, were hurt while trying to disarm Adib in the mosque's basement.
Police have not disclosed a motive, but the suspect was known to the worshippers at the mosque.
