Overview
- On Aug. 1 a person carried a carton of eggs to Congregation Agudas Israel and threw eggs at parts of the building and several parked vehicles while congregants were inside praying.
- Police were notified on Aug. 4 after the incident and used security-camera footage to identify a suspect whose image was released to the public.
- A 31-year-old man from Dundurn surrendered to police on Aug. 14, was charged with three counts of mischief under $5,000, and was released under specific conditions pending court.
- The Saskatoon Police Community Engagement Division and Hate Crimes Unit are involved in the probe, and Supt. James Oliver said evidence of bias would be treated by the court as an aggravating factor rather than a separate Criminal Code charge.
