Man Arrested on Suspicion of Rape at Soho’s Groucho Club

The private members' club faces a licence suspension as police investigate allegations of a serious crime on its premises.

A 34-year-old man was arrested on the evening of November 30 at a Hertfordshire address on suspicion of raping a woman at The Groucho Club in Soho.
The alleged incident took place inside the Dean Street venue on November 13, prompting a police investigation led by the Central West Public Protection Team.
The Metropolitan Police stated that there is no indication that employees of the club were involved in the alleged offense.
Westminster City Council temporarily suspended The Groucho Club's licence for up to 28 days after concerns were raised about potential breaches of licensing conditions linked to the incident.
A full licensing hearing is expected to take place within the next 28 days as the investigation continues.
