Man Arrested in France for Christmas Day Murder of Wife and Four Children

Suspect with history of violence and psychiatric illness detained after gruesome discovery in Meaux apartment

A 33-year-old man has been arrested in France on suspicion of murdering his wife and their four children, aged nine months, four, seven and 10 years old, in their apartment in Meaux, east of Paris, on Christmas Day.
The mother and her two daughters were stabbed multiple times, while the two sons were either suffocated or drowned.
The suspect had a history of psychiatric illness and violence, having previously stabbed his wife in 2019 when she was pregnant with their third child.
The suspect was found near his father's home in Sevran, a town northeast of Paris, and is currently in police custody.
The investigation into the murders is ongoing, with a psychiatric examination of the suspect planned.
