Overview

• Firefighters responding early Sept. 12 to the 10300 block of West Bellwood Avenue found a second-floor mattress burning and a 38-year-old woman with severe burns and stab wounds.
• The victim was taken to a hospital and died; authorities have not released her name.
• LAPD West Bureau homicide detectives identified the suspect as Willian Santos, 33, and he was arrested in Lebec around 8 p.m. the same day.
