Man Arrested for Murdering Girlfriend in Vasai After Two-Month Investigation

Amit Singh, 28, was arrested for the murder of his girlfriend, Priya Singh, 25, in Vasai, Maharashtra, after a two-month investigation.
The murder occurred on December 25, 2024, after Priya reportedly pressured Amit to marry her, which his family opposed.
Amit lured Priya to an isolated area, strangled her with her sweatshirt, and disposed of her body in a swamp in Naigaon.
To mislead investigators, Amit placed Priya's phone on a Delhi-bound train, creating the impression she had left Vasai.
The police traced Priya’s phone and linked its location data to Amit, who eventually confessed; her body and the sweatshirt used in the murder were recovered.
