Man Arrested for Murder of Bengaluru Vlogger After Multi-State Manhunt

Aarav Hanoy, accused of killing his girlfriend Maya Gogoi, was apprehended near Devanahalli after evading police for several days.

Maya Gogoi, a 20-year-old vlogger from Assam, was found dead in a service apartment in Bengaluru's Indiranagar on November 26, 2024.
Her boyfriend, Aarav Hanoy, a 22-year-old intern from Kerala, is accused of premeditated murder, having brought a knife and ordered a nylon rope online before the crime.
Police reports indicate Hanoy stayed with the victim's body for up to two days before fleeing the scene on November 26.
CCTV footage captured Hanoy leaving the apartment in a panic, and he later evaded capture by traveling across multiple states, including Uttar Pradesh and Varanasi, before being arrested near Devanahalli.
The couple, who had been in a relationship for six months after meeting on social media, checked into the service apartment days before the murder, which authorities say stemmed from a personal dispute.
