Man Arrested at Capitol for Plot to Kill GOP Leaders with Molotov Cocktails

Ryan English, a Massachusetts resident, turned himself in to Capitol Police, admitting plans to target Republican officials including Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.

English carried two Molotov cocktails, a folding knife, and a lighter, and additional bomb-making materials were found in his car.
Initially targeting Defense Secretary Hegseth and Speaker Johnson, English shifted focus to Bessent after reading about his confirmation hearing on Reddit.
English admitted he was prepared to kill Capitol Police officers or die by 'suicide by cop' to execute his plans.
Authorities charged English with unlawful possession of firearms and incendiary devices on Capitol grounds.
