Man Arrested After Machete Attack in Bavarian Town of Selb

A 32-year-old suspect is in custody after injuring one man and attempting to attack a woman; motive remains unclear.

The attack occurred on Monday evening in a residential area of Selb, near the German-Czech border.
A 52-year-old man suffered severe head injuries from two machete strikes and was hospitalized but is not in life-threatening condition.
The suspect also attempted to assault a 20-year-old woman, who successfully defended herself and was unharmed.
In addition to the attacks, the suspect caused approximately €500 in damage to two vehicles before fleeing the scene.
Police arrested the suspect nearby shortly after the incident; investigators are examining the potential influence of alcohol or drugs.
