Man Arrested After Knife Attack on Wife in Berlin-Kreuzberg

A 25-year-old suspect is in custody after allegedly stabbing his 38-year-old wife in a public confrontation, leaving her seriously injured.

The attack occurred on Thursday afternoon in Berlin-Kreuzberg near Dudenstraße and Katzbachstraße.
The suspect reportedly struck his wife in the face before stabbing her in the face and upper body with a knife.
A passing driver offered the victim refuge in her car, but the suspect forced the car door open and continued the attack.
Police recovered a knife at the scene, believed to be the weapon used in the assault.
The suspect fled the scene but later turned himself in to police in Tempelhof and is now in pretrial detention.
