Overview

• Police say the truck was reported stolen from Elizabeth Street in Brisbane’s CBD at about 10:15am.
• A multi-jurisdiction pursuit followed the Bruce Highway through Brisbane’s north, Moreton Bay, the Sunshine Coast and Gympie with PolAir overhead.
• Officers deployed tyre spikes at Yandina, and the truck continued on its rims before stopping near Owanyilla, south of Maryborough, shortly before 2pm.
• The male driver was arrested at the scene and is assisting police, who reported boxes falling from the vehicle but no injuries.
• Spot fires were observed along the highway verge north of the Sunshine Coast, with the cause unconfirmed as authorities request dashcam footage.
