Overview
- Emergency services were called at 10.46am on Wednesday, August 27, to an incident near Ilam Moor Lane in the Peak District, north of Ashbourne in Derbyshire.
- Responders included a land ambulance, a paramedic officer, the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford, Peak District Mountain Rescue and the fire service.
- Crews found the man on a steep hillside about 100 metres above ground after he reportedly fell down part of the slope.
- He was treated for potentially serious injuries on the hillside and was stabilised by ambulance staff.
- Mountain rescue and fire crews lowered him using a rope system before he was carried to the helicopter and flown to Royal Stoke University Hospital, a regional major trauma centre.
