Overview

• Emergency services were called at about 3.05am on Sunday, September 7, to Wigan Road near the junction with Nel Pan Lane in Leigh, Wigan.
• Greater Manchester Police said the Nissan was travelling eastbound before colliding with a building, and no other vehicles are believed to have been involved.
• Members of the public and emergency crews assisted the driver at the scene, but he later died from his injuries.
• GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is investigating to establish the circumstances of the fatal crash.
