Overview

• Victim identified as Vinod Kamble, 25, a resident of Pune who was traveling with a friend in the second general coach.
• Incident occurred around 4:23 am Tuesday on the Karjat–Bhiwandi section of the 11020 Konark Express, according to officials.
• RPF personnel and witnesses said Mangesh Ramdas Dasore, 40, asked Kamble and his friend to move from the doorway area and then allegedly pushed Kamble off when they refused.
• RPF escort staff detained Dasore and handed him to the Government Railway Police at Thane, and officials said he admitted to the act during questioning.
• GRP Karjat found Kamble injured at kilometre 93/25, took him to Karjat General Hospital where he was declared brought dead, and a case is being registered as the investigation continues.
