She performed traditional rituals, including her own 'Pind Daan,' signifying the renunciation of worldly ties, and took a holy dip at the Sangam Ghat.
Kulkarni, now known as Shri Yamai Mamta Nand Giri, described her spiritual journey as a culmination of 23 years of penance and dedication to Sanatan Dharma.
Her appointment has drawn criticism from some Kinnar Akhada members, citing her controversial past, including allegations of underworld connections and a dismissed drug case.
The Kinnar Akhada, established to empower transgender individuals within the spiritual fold, highlighted her year-long association and commitment to their mission.
