Overview
- A Suffolk University–CityView survey of 500 likely voters conducted Sept. 16–18 shows Zohran Mamdani at 45% to Andrew Cuomo’s 25%, with Curtis Sliwa at 9%, Eric Adams at 8%, 9% undecided and a margin of error of ±4.4 points.
- Recent New York Times/Siena and Emerson/PIX11/The Hill polls similarly place Mamdani well ahead, including 46% to 24% in the Times/Siena poll and 43% to 28% in Emerson’s.
- The Suffolk poll reports Mamdani leading across key groups, drawing 53% of Black voters, 52% of Hispanic voters and 58% of Asian voters, with a closer contest among white voters.
- Voters rank affordability (21%), crime (20%) and jobs/economy (14%) as top concerns, aligning with Mamdani’s platform of rent freezes, fare-free buses, free CUNY, free childcare and municipal supermarkets.
- Cuomo is barnstorming the five boroughs as an independent, yet analysts quoted say his route would require unlikely breaks after attempts to clear the field have not succeeded.
