Overview

  • The Sumbangan Asas Rahmah programme will deliver a one-off RM100 payment to about 22 million Malaysians aged 18 and above, usable from August 31 to December 31 at over 4,100 outlets including Mydin, Lotus’s, Econsave and 99Speedmart.
  • From September, RON95 petrol will be capped at RM1.99 per litre for roughly 18 million motorists, down from RM2.05, as part of targeted fuel relief.
  • Any unused funds from the RM2 billion allocation by year-end will be redirected in 2026 to vulnerable groups deemed in greater need.
  • September 16 has been declared a nationwide public holiday for Malaysia Day, extending the weekend from Saturday, September 13.
  • The package pairs universal transfers with targeted subsidies to ease household budgets after successive subsidy cuts and tax hikes under recent budgets.
