Malachy McCourt, renowned Irish-American actor, memoirist, and raconteur, passed away in Manhattan at the age of 92.
McCourt was best known for his role as Kevin the bartender on the long-running ABC soap opera 'Ryan’s Hope'.
He authored several memoirs, including 'A Monk Swimming' and 'Singing My Him Song', detailing his life experiences from Limerick to New York.
In addition to his entertainment career, McCourt was a political activist, running for governor of New York as a Green Party candidate in 2006.
He is survived by his wife Diana, four children, a stepdaughter, nine grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
