Overview
- Transport for London confirmed that Piccadilly line trains will not run between Hammersmith and Heathrow or Uxbridge across the July 11–12 weekend, including night services.
- TfL also announced no District line service between Turnham Green and Ealing Broadway and no Metropolitan service from Harrow-on-the-Hill to Uxbridge for the same period.
- Network Rail maintenance will mean Elizabeth line trains do not stop at Acton Main Line, Hanwell and West Ealing overnight Saturday into Sunday, and the Windrush Overground will not run between Wandsworth Road and Clapham Junction until about 9am on Sunday.
- Passengers are being directed to use the Elizabeth line or Heathrow Express for journeys to the airport, and to expect rail-replacement buses and accepted alternative tickets on affected sections.
- The engineering work coincides with heavy event travel for Wimbledon and public World Cup screenings, a heatwave that can impose speed limits, and separate London Northwestern Railway strike cuts, which could amplify disruption for weekend travellers.
