The Major Open follows a nine-round Swiss system with 90 minutes for 40 moves, a 30-minute finish period and a 30-second increment per move.
The Championship section is led by GM Nikita Vitiugov (2676), GM Michael Adams (2663) and GM Gawain Jones (2651).
Competitors are divided into nine categories ranging from Under-8 to Over-65.
