Major LA developer sentenced to 6 years in prison for bribing city councilman

Real estate developer Dae Yong Lee was sentenced to 6 years in prison for bribing former LA City Councilmember José Huizar.
Lee paid $500,000 in bribes to Huizar in exchange for approval of a residential tower project.
Lee was found guilty of wire fraud and obstruction of justice and fined $750,000, while his company was fined $1.5 million.
Huizar and others have pleaded guilty to charges related to the bribery scheme.
The case is part of an ongoing federal investigation into corruption in the LA city government.
