Major Chains Offer Free and Discounted Donuts for National Donut Day

Established by The Salvation Army in 1938 to honor World War I 'Donut Lassies,' the celebration has grown into a nationwide day of community events with promotional deals.

Dunkin' Donuts is one of the donut chains that will be offering donut deals on National Donut Day this Friday. 

Overview

  • The Salvation Army will distribute doughnuts to veterans nationwide and host the National Donut Day World Donut Eating Championship at the World War I Memorial in Washington, D.C.
  • Dunkin’ is giving away one free classic doughnut with any beverage purchase on June 6 and releasing a limited-edition Stoney Clover Lane merchandise collection.
  • Krispy Kreme is offering a free Original Glazed doughnut with no purchase necessary and a $2 dozen with any dozen purchase before kicking off its 14-day Original Glazed promotion from June 7 to 20.
  • At participating 7-Eleven, Stripes and Speedway stores, 7Rewards and Speedy Rewards members can buy a classic glazed doughnut for $0.50 on June 6, with a $1 price available through June 24.
  • Additional chains such as Duck Donuts, Honey Dew Donuts, Sheetz, Tim Hortons and Voodoo Doughnut are running freebie and discount promotions in stores and via apps around National Donut Day.
