Major automakers unite to build expansive EV charging network across North America

Seven major automakers are forming a joint venture to build a charging network with over 30,000 plugs across North America.
The goal is to rival Tesla's network and accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles by expanding charging infrastructure.
The first stations with multiple high-powered chargers are set to open in the US in summer 2024.
The network will use renewable energy when possible and have amenities like restrooms and food service.
It will have connectors for both Tesla vehicles and other EVs using industry standards like CCS and NACS.
