Overview
- Authorities seized approximately 30 liters of amphetamine base, 60 liters of precursor chemicals, six firearms, nearly €30,000 in cash and 40 tons of chemical waste.
- The lab spanned 1,500 square meters in a former agricultural estate and housed a 2,300-liter reactor capable of producing amphetamine in the high three-digit kilogram range.
- Four suspects have been remanded in custody on charges of drug manufacturing and trafficking following warrants issued by the Kölner Amtsgericht.
- The investigation, launched in April, covered locations in Kerpen, Elsdorf, Euskirchen and Hückelhoven and involved coordination between federal customs, police and international agencies.
- Customs officials estimate the seized drugs are worth several million euros and warn that the waste products alone could yield about a ton of amphetamine base.
