Overview
- Entertainment trade reporting says HBO is exploring an Arya-focused Game of Thrones project that is in very early development and not officially greenlit.
- Williams told The Guardian she saw the reports on Sunday and expressed surprise, saying she was unaware of formal approaches about the role.
- The actor said she is undecided about reprising Arya and that the character would need fresh development because Williams and Arya have both changed since the original series.
- Industry coverage has named writer Quoc Dang Tran as linked to the Arya idea and separately reports a Game of Thrones: Aegon’s Conquest film with Beau Williamson attached is also moving forward.
- Previous attempts to build character continuations, including a Jon Snow series that stalled, plus concerns about protecting character integrity after the original ending, mean any new project will face close scrutiny from creators, actors and fans.
