  • Maido in Lima, Peru, helmed by chef-owner Mitsuharu “Micha” Tsumura, rose from fifth to first with its seasonal Nikkei tasting menu blending Japanese techniques and Peruvian ingredients.
  • Asador Etxebarri in Atxondo, Spain, and Quintonil in Mexico City secured second and third places on the 2025 podium.
  • The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, produced by William Reed, features 50 eateries from 22 territories across five continents and welcomed ten new entries this year.
  • Atomix in New York led North America at No. 12 overall, while Bangkok had the highest representation with six restaurants in the top 50.
  • Special awards included the Estrella Damm Chefs’ Choice Award for Enigma’s Albert Adrià, the Sustainable Restaurant Award for Celele in Cartagena, and honors for best pastry chef, sommelier and hospitality excellence.
