Mahindra Lifespace Acquires Pune Land Parcel, Wins Malad Redevelopment Mandate

The developer is concentrating on select micro-markets to build scale, with projects it pegs at ₹3,500 crore in Pune plus ₹800 crore in Mumbai.

Overview

  • Mahindra Lifespace disclosed the purchase of a 13.46-acre site in Nande-Mahalunge near Pune with an estimated development potential of ₹3,500 crore.
  • The company said the Pune location offers quick access to Hinjewadi and sits between the Baner-Balewadi and Hinjewadi hubs within the planned PMRDA network.
  • One day earlier, the firm was named preferred partner to redevelop four housing societies in Malad West, covering about 1.65 acres with a potential of ₹800 crore.
  • The Malad site lies roughly 2.6 km from the Western Express Highway, under 1 km from Malad West Metro Station, and about 1.5 km from Malad Railway Station.
  • The company framed both moves as deepening its presence in key corridors, while Knight Frank projects 44,277 Mumbai redevelopment apartments worth ₹1.3 lakh crore by 2030.
