Overview

  • Two launch variants are offered, with the AX5 as the entry trim and the AX7L as the range‑topper.
  • Mahindra claims a real‑world range of about 285 km from a 39.4 kWh battery and a front motor rated around 147–150 hp and 310 Nm, with 0–100 km/h in a claimed 8.3 seconds.
  • Fast charging from 0 to 80 percent takes about 50 minutes on a 50 kW DC charger, while a standard 3.3 kW portable charger and an optional 7.2 kW wallbox (about Rs 50,000) cover home charging needs.
  • Core equipment includes twin 10.25‑inch displays, six airbags and ESC, while the AX7L adds Level‑2 ADAS, a 360‑degree camera, a panoramic sunroof and a Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos.
  • The model replaces the XUV400, uses the ICE‑derived XUV 3XO body, and is positioned to compete directly with compact EVs such as the Tata Nexon EV.
