Mahindra Launches NU_IQ Platform and Four Concept SUVs

The company has pledged Rs 27,000 crore to back a 2027 production start at its Chakan plant.

Overview

  • NU_IQ is a modular monocoque platform engineered to support petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric drivetrains alongside front- and all-wheel-drive configurations and both left- and right-hand-drive layouts.
  • The four concept SUVs preview distinct lineages with Vision T hinting at the next Thar, Vision S pointing to Scorpio/Bolero successors, Vision X outlining a sub-4-metre compact XUV and Vision SXT showcasing a pickup-style Thar derivative.
  • The Chakan facility is being equipped for a 240,000-unit annual capacity to serve domestic buyers and export markets including Australia, South Africa and the UK.
  • Mahindra’s new HEARTCORE design language and NU_UX digital cockpit architecture are showcased across the concepts, which also feature flat-floor ICE packaging, class-leading ground clearance and enhanced approach and departure angles.
  • Further NU_IQ derivatives are earmarked for rollout through 2028 under a phased roadmap encompassing diverse bodystyles, powertrains and lifestyle-focused models.
