Overview
- Mahindra confirmed in India that it will build its own Gen4 car and stay in the championship at least until the end of 2030.
- With the move, Mahindra becomes the sixth confirmed Gen4 manufacturer, joining Porsche, Nissan, Jaguar, Stellantis and Lola.
- The team missed the first private manufacturers test at Monteblanco but registered as a manufacturer beforehand, with head of performance Josef Holden attending.
- Team principal Frederic Bertrand said remaining a manufacturer offers the best path to competitiveness after last season’s upturn, and Jeff Dodds noted the registration deadline is not hard and fast.
- Near-term priorities include finalising driver plans for Nyck de Vries and Edoardo Mortara and targeting the next group test in mid-January.
