Mahindra BE6 Debuts on London Formula E Circuit as First India-Made Electric SUV

Overview

  • The BE6 became the first India-made electric SUV to run laps at the London Formula E circuit during the July 28 E-Prix weekend.
  • Mahindra Racing staged the public track outing under its ‘Unlimit Performance’ banner to showcase the SUV’s dynamic handling.
  • Built on the INGLO skateboard platform, the rear-wheel-drive SUV offers two single-motor battery packs: 59 kWh delivering 227 hp/380 Nm and 79 kWh producing 281 hp.
  • The BE6 can achieve up to 557 km (59 kWh) or 682 km (79 kWh) of range and supports superfast DC charging from 20% to 80% in about 20 minutes.
  • Mahindra is reported to be developing a hybrid BE6 variant that adds a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine to its electric drivetrain.
