Maharashtra to Hold MHT-CET and MBA/MMS CET Twice Yearly Starting April–May 2026

The two-session format follows the JEE Main model to ease exam pressure, with expanded test infrastructure plus district help centres planned.

Overview

  • First session is scheduled for April 2026 with a second in May, with a detailed timetable to be issued by the CET Cell.
  • Appearing for at least one exam is mandatory, a second attempt is optional, and the better score will be used for admission.
  • The change also applies to the MBA/MMS CET for management admissions beginning in the 2026–27 cycle.
  • From 2027, the two sessions are planned to be spaced about six months apart to allow more preparation time.
  • The state plans roughly 20,000 computer-based testing systems, around 40 district help centres, and permanent CET Cell staffing to support delivery, benefiting an estimated 600,000 aspirants annually.
