Maharashtra Signs Rs 42,893 Crore in Data Centre and Solar MoUs, Projected to Create 28,558 Jobs

Officials pledge end-to-end facilitation to convert MoUs into projects.

Overview

  • The state signed eight MoUs and two strategic agreements concentrated in data centres and solar manufacturing.
  • Jupiter International agreed to invest Rs 10,900 crore for solar panel manufacturing, and Prestige Estate Projects committed Rs 12,500 crore across data centres, logistics and real estate.
  • Data centre plans also include Rochak Systems (Rs 2,508 crore), Rovison Tech Hub (Rs 2,564 crore) and Webmint Digital (Rs 4,846 crore).
  • Diversification measures span Wow Iron & Steel (Rs 4,300 crore), LNK Green Energy (Rs 4,700 crore) and Atlas Copco (Rs 575 crore).
  • The government signed a strategic pact to court UK and European investors and an MoU with TUTRR Hyperloop for an advanced transport system serving JNPT and Vadhavan Ports, with the chief minister citing IIT Bombay and IIT Madras involvement.
