Maharashtra Signs MoU With Max Aerospace to Build Helicopter Plant in Nagpur

Overview

  • The MoU was formalized on June 13 at Mumbai’s Sahyadri Guest House by Industries Secretary P. Anbalagan and Max Aerospace Chair Bharat Malkani in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
  • Max Aerospace will invest Rs 8,000 crore over eight years to establish Maharashtra’s first dedicated helicopter manufacturing facility.
  • The project is expected to generate around 2,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities across the Vidarbha region.
  • The site will function as a Centre of Excellence for customization, integration, and flight testing of rotary-wing platforms using world-class technology.
  • Situated adjacent to Nagpur airport, the facility will leverage existing infrastructure and logistics networks while aligning with ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives.
