Overview
- The new agreements cover electronics, steel, solar energy, electric buses and trucks, and defence-related industries across North Maharashtra, Pune, Vidarbha and Konkan.
- The signings were conducted in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Industries Minister Uday Samant.
- Fadnavis said the government will stay involved through implementation to remove hurdles, with the Maitri portal facilitating quicker land allocation, permits and other clearances.
- He said a recently approved five-year multi-year tariff plan will lower electricity rates each year, reversing previous annual increases.
- The August 29 signings follow a separate August 19 batch of 10 MoUs worth about Rs 42,000 crore for solar projects and data centres, which were projected to create more than 28,000 jobs.
