Maharashtra Sets December Launch Targets for Mumbai Metro Lines 9 and 4

  • Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik directed Line 9 to start by December 15 and Line 4 by December 31, according to an official statement.

  • The 10.32 km Kapurbawdi–Gaimukh service road on Ghodbunder Road must be concretised and integrated with the main road by December 31.
  • Internal road works are to be expedited, notably the stretch between the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Statue and the Maharana Pratap Statue in Mira-Bhayandar.
  • Officials reviewed car shed plans at Dongri and Mogharpada, proposed landscaped spaces under metro bridges with maintenance funded by advertising rights, and suggested station names based on original villages.
