Overview

  • Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced MAHAGENCO will commission solar projects totaling 1,071 MW under the Solar Agriculture Feeder Scheme 2.0 to supply uninterrupted daytime power for irrigation.
  • Arrays ranging from 0.5 MW to 25 MW will be installed within a 5–10 km radius of agricultural distribution substations to relieve the conventional grid during peak hours.
  • GEAPP India is deploying a Project Monitoring Unit and a real-time digital dashboard to oversee land acquisition, installation progress and performance metrics.
  • A joint strategic committee comprising state officials, MAHAGENCO and GEAPP representatives will convene regularly to address logistical challenges and ensure timely completion.
  • The scheme supports Mission 2025’s objective to solarize about 30 percent of all agricultural feeders by year-end, aiming to lower carbon emissions and reduce electricity costs for more than 300,000 farmers.
