Overview
- The state will hold the last Class 5 and 8 tests in February 2026, then launch the Class 4 and 7 exams in April–May 2026 before shifting to an annual cycle from 2026–27.
- Winners at the Class 4 level will receive ₹5,000 per year and those at Class 7 will get ₹7,500 per year, with each award running for three years.
- The tests have been retitled as the Primary Scholarship Examination (Class 4 level) and the Upper Primary Scholarship Examination (Class 7 level), with 16,693 primary and 16,588 upper-primary awards sanctioned.
- Students enrolled in recognised schools across all boards are eligible, with maximum ages set at 10 for Class 4 and 13 for Class 7, and higher limits for disabled candidates.
- Candidates will pay ₹200 to apply, or ₹125 for SC, ST, VJNT and disabled categories, while schools must register annually with the Examination Council for ₹200.
