Overview

  • The home department transferred 51 IPS officers and 81 state police service officials across Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Nashik, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and other urban centers.
  • Five officers—Vijay Pawar, Sunil Lokhande, Namrata Patil, Smita Patil and one other officer—were promoted to Deputy Commissioner of Police posts in Mumbai.
  • Tejaswi Satpute shifted from overseeing Weapons Inspection in Pune to commanding State Reserve Police Force group 1 there, and Amol Zende took over as SRPF commander in Daund.
  • Smartana Patil has been moved from Pune to lead the Police Training Center at Khandala, while Kolhapur’s Tushar Patil joined Mumbai Police as a DCP.
  • The reshuffle is part of ongoing reforms to strengthen counterterrorism and cybercrime readiness after the April Pahalgam attack and surging online fraud.
