Overview

• The draft vision document, structured with short-, medium- and long-term goals, was presented at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Mumbai.
• More than 400,000 citizens contributed ideas that informed the draft, which the chief minister said should guide future policies and decisions.
• Fadnavis called the roadmap a path to make Maharashtra the best in India and globally competitive through implementation of its measures.
• He told agencies their targets are achievable provided they adopt innovative ideas, global best practices and technology-driven approaches.
• Departments including agriculture, urban development, home, public health, medical education, tourism, transport and public works presented sectoral inputs for the document.
