Maharashtra Postpones Ward Formation, Municipal Elections Deferred to November

The rewritten process requires ward drafts to pass through the Urban Development Department before State Election Commission approval

Only one representative from each ward would be elected to the 227-member BMC while all other municipal corporations in the state would have four elected members per ward (Hindustan Times)
This marks a shift from the earlier notification dated June 10, where submissions were to be made directly to the SEC. (HT)
