Maharashtra Police Probe Loan and Safekeeping Scams After Nearly Rs 1.15 Crore Losses

  • Virar police filed an FIR after two men allegedly took a woman’s gold, two phones and a car worth Rs 17.03 lakh by claiming a raid at her home was imminent.
  • The Virar complainant’s husband is lodged at Taloja Jail, and the accused, identified as his acquaintances from Mira Road, also took her ATM cards.
  • Both cases are at the investigation stage with efforts under way to trace the six named suspects, and no arrests or major recoveries reported so far.
