Overview

• The six-lane, 15-km viaduct will connect the Coastal Road’s Lala Lajpatrai Road junction at Haji Ali to Dr E. Moses Road on Senapati Bapat Marg.
• Its alignment will run alongside the Mahalaxmi Racecourse and near the NSCI Dome to bypass congestion hotspots in Worli, Tardeo and Dadar.
• Officials say the design employs existing road medians and elevated supports to avoid land acquisition and maintain uninterrupted traffic flow.
• Advanced planning estimates peg cost at Rs 250–300 crore, and officials expect peak-hour travel times to fall by up to 30 minutes.
• Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s office and the Public Works Department have outlined the plan, with implementing agencies yet to be finalized.
