Overview
- Union Jal Shakti Minister C R Patil announced the winners, with Gujarat placed second and Haryana third, and Navi Mumbai ranked top among urban local bodies.
- The Department of Water Resources selected 46 winners across 10 categories from 751 applications after jury evaluation and field verification by the CWC and CGWB.
- Under JSJB 1.0, Telangana led with 5.2 lakh water conservation structures, followed by Chhattisgarh with 4.05 lakh and Rajasthan with 3.64 lakh.
- A broader tally of 100 awards was released covering states, 67 districts, six municipal corporations, one ULB, partner ministries, industries, NGOs, philanthropists and 14 nodal officers.
- Awardees will receive citations, trophies and cash prizes in select categories, with top performers eligible for amounts up to Rs 2 crore.
