Overview

  • Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis unveiled a 100-point Ease of Doing Business drive and ordered an industries War Room to track implementation with monthly reviews.
  • Officials highlighted measures already in place, including year-long fire safety licences, the MAITRI Act 2023, a two-document single-window power connection, a Building Plan Management System, and MIDC’s MILAP land portal.
  • Planned actions include creating a state land bank, setting a 60-day target for environmental clearances, forming district investment cells, launching a One Taluka/One Cluster policy, and enabling private industrial parks beyond MIDC estates.
  • Fadnavis proposed exempting agro-processing units over five hectares from prior permissions, urged faster land measurement, and sought rationalised pollution penalties so environment-friendly industries are not overcharged.
  • He urged exporters to cultivate alternative markets, called for a dedicated export portal, and noted a state panel led by Apoorva Chandra is working on mitigation as US tariffs reportedly reach 50%.
