Maharashtra Issues GR to Recruit 15,631 Police and Prison Constables

A one-time age relaxation opens the drive to candidates who exceeded limits in 2022–23.

Overview

  • The state formalized the hiring through a Government Resolution issued on Wednesday.
  • The intake includes 12,399 police constables, 2,393 armed constables, 234 driver-constables, 25 bandsmen and 580 prison constables.
  • The vacancies cover posts left unfilled in 2024 as well as positions expected to open in 2025.
  • Officials waived the earlier cap that limited direct recruitment to 50 percent of posts due to personnel needs.
  • Selection will be conducted division-wise with an OMR-based written exam, with fees set at Rs 450 for open-category applicants and Rs 350 for reserved categories.
