Overview

  • The government selected the ₹52,652 crore cost variant after MMRDA presented six options ranging from ₹87,427 crore to ₹52,652 crore.
  • The main carriageway will feature a 3+3 lane configuration and connectors will have 2+2 lanes, reducing land acquisition and construction costs.
  • Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis ordered linkages to Vadhavan Port and the Samruddhi Mahamarg to boost freight and passenger connectivity.
  • Funding will combine ₹37,998 crore in multilateral borrowings repayable through toll revenues with ₹14,654 crore equity from the Maharashtra Government and MMRDA.
  • MMRDA must submit updated detailed and preliminary project reports to the government and establish a special purpose vehicle to fast-track approvals.
