Overview

  • The General Administration Department issued a Government Resolution on July 28–29 under the 1979 Civil Services Conduct Rules requiring immediate compliance statewide.
  • The guidelines apply to all state officers and staff, including contract workers, deputationists, local bodies personnel and public sector undertakings.
  • Employees must maintain separate official and personal social media accounts and properly hand over any official profiles upon transfer or resignation.
  • Public criticism of state or central government policies on any social platform will invite disciplinary action under the Maharashtra Civil Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules.
  • Sharing confidential documents without authorization and featuring government insignia, logos, buildings or vehicles in personal posts is strictly forbidden.
